Timeline evolution of the DiscoveryMat software.
November 2024
- Update of the application logo and the application splash screen.
Septembre 2024
- Improved flexibility of the sample comparison graph.
- Replacement of all graphs with a more modern, richer view that allows for user interaction.
- The dark theme of the graphs can now be customised, for example for more harmonious insertion (white background) in a report, when saving as a jpeg.
- Plot thickness can be dynamically changed by the user.
August 2024
- Improved user experience during the acquisition phase. Selected smaples are displayed in backrpund during the acquisition of a new trace, in order to analyse reproducibility. In addition, the x scale is dynamic and changes over time, so that live tracings can be viewed more accurately. At the end of the acquisition, you can zoom in or save the graph as a png, etc. Give it a try!
- It is now possible to operate a delayed stop during the scanning phase
- Improved automatic choice of sample names
- Fixed the text display bug in the ranking tool. The font used is now integrated into DiscoveryMat, and loaded if it is not present on the host PC.

- The Metrix measurement device is now officially deprecated.
- Digitalization from a camera is no longer a priority and will remain experimental until further notice.

- From version 2.0.0, the new DiscoveryMat runtime is now openjdk 17.
- Windows 11 is now supported
- The DiscoveryMat site has been updated to take into account the new Yoctopuce voltmeter.
- The use of the metrix voltmeter is still possible, but is going to be deprecated. It is strongly advised to switch to the Yocto volmeter as soon as possible.
- Update of Windows metrix driver

- From version 2.0.0, you can use the new yocto voltmeter. This one is less expensive than the metrix, and it does not require the installation of driver. This makes the software DiscoveryMat easier to install and use.

- From 1.8.5 version, DiscoveryMat is now build (and run) with OpenJDK11.
July 2021
- Migration of the java runtime (JRE). OpenJDK 11 is now used, instead of Oracle Java 8.
- Adaptation of the installation setup to JRE 11 runtime.
- The update chain with the old installer is guaranteed.

- This site can now be found more easily thanks to the introduction of the domain name discoverymat.he-arc.ch. This domain name replaces the old IP to access this site.
- Migration from the FTP server to the HTTP server, to require a migration of the automatic software update system.
- Version 1.6.5 is the last version hosted on the now deprecated FTP server.
- This FTP server will be kept for some time to ensure an update to the latest versions.
- If necessary, if you can still manually uninstall your version and download the very last one on this site, if the chain of update does not work any more at your place.
- From Version 1.7.0, all files are hosted on the new http file server.

- Acquisition of data with webcam is include as an Option. It's a beta functionality! The webcam digitalisation has been tested only under windows actualy, and only with the logitech brio webcam only. ThisLogitech brio webcam is great in any light condition with HDR, and own an autofocus!
- DiscoveryMat required at least a FHD USB webcam,and a FHD screen.
- The digitalisation by webcam is not yet available under Raspberry PI and not yet tested under Linux.
